Rev. Paul Quevedo

On Ash Wednesday, 2007, I assumed the pulpit of the Reformed Church of Locust Valley.  After 40 somewhat years, God called me East, to this wonderful community and “that nice country church” on Ryefield Road that I now call home.  And once you have been here, you will come to understand exactly what I mean.  From 2 to ninety-two (give or take a few months) you will be greeted by the love and excitement that is the Holy Spirit moving in the hearts, minds, bodies and souls of the people who lovingly call this church, “their church.”

And it is about people, all people, God’s people.  My “aha” moment came when I read the Sermon on the Mount out loud to my Bible discussion group.  “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven” Matthew wrote.  Then God’s Spirit told me “Now go and tell my people this! Go!”.

In the Spring of 2007, the Reformed Church came together to mark a new milestone in the mission of Christ’s church here on Long Island.  Standing as one in community with Christ, we reaffirmed the commitment of the Reformed Church of Locust Valley to the building up of God’s kingdom as I was officially installed as their Pastor and Teacher.
